It's January and feels like winter

The temperature dropped seriously yesterday.  Things barely got over 1 F today, and have declined after dark:
That means:

  • Two fires going, in the main basement one and the kitchen stove.
  • Winter gear a necessity for going outside.
  • Despite that, Owain and I love running outside without coats or shoes, then scrambling back inside, laughing.
  • It's too cold for more snow to fall.
  • No wind to speak of.
The appearance of the landscape changes somehow, becoming sharper, clarified:

Ceredwyn cooked potatoes for dinner, which came from our fall harvest.  That provision of spud stores feels urgent, now, considered against the biting cold.
