September harvesting

It's mid-September, and that means some plants get harvested.

I mentioned cucumbers last month, and those plots keep yielding more.  (A phalanx of pickle jars are a delight in our main fridge)

Tomatoes and more tomatoes have left their plants, to ripen in every windowsill we can reach.  Those vines took off like mad this summer, creating a jungle row across our small plot.

And squash!  Lurking under bean and corn plants, these weirdly-shaped fruit are ready for the kitchen.

Storage time: yes, we're eating and cooking some of these now.  But most are going into storage for winter.  Ceredwyn has been canning and jar-ing vast amounts.

Coming up soon: corn, then beans.
