In mid-March we're enjoying another snowfall. The Ideas of March was marked by temperatures just above zero around dawn.
And still our homestead makes fresh food.
Our brave chickens lay eggs every day:
And Ceredwyn turned gallons of maple sap into precious syrup:
Just because spring seems like a distant hypothesis at this point doesn't mean we can't be fruitful.
This productivity makes us think about seasonal diet. If we were living solely on our homestead's produce, we'd lack fresh veggies by now. We'd rely on our potato cache, and eat a lot of eggs. Syrup would flavor this stuff, or serve as sugar substitute.
