Snow to wood to snow again

Today we took delivery of five cords of wood.  We don't need to burn any more wood this season; this is fuel for next winter.

One pile of six or so.

How much did we pay for this bounty?  About $1100.  That sounds like a lot, but Ceredwyn and I calculate we'd spend that much to heat the house for two months, using fuel oil.

Now, as the last snows (I hope) recede, we start stacking against the next ones.
